Emma Maersk Is Transporting Your Job To China
Check out this entire page. You may be surprised.  And you may learn something.

The Emma Maersk shown below is one of many ships owned by the Danish shipping line.

Do you ever wonder how so many products sold in so many stores you shop in carry the label, "Made in China"? Do you wonder why so many North American and European jobs are being lost?
This ship is one of three now in service. The Maersk Line has commissioned two more. Those will be completed in 2012.

Ninety-one percent -- 91% -- of all of Wal-Mart's products are manufactured in China.

These ships were commissioned by Wal-Mart so that it may transport its goods from China. Each ship holds 15,000 and has a 207 foot deck beam. Each ship's full crew is 13.
That crew serves on a ship that is longer than a US aircraft carrier which has a crew of over 5,000.
Due to its 207 foot beam, these ships cannot traverse the Panama Canal. These ships are intended for only cross-Pacific transport. They cruise at 31 knots.
Goods transported on these ships arrive four days after leaving China. Therefore, these ships make China's perishable goods saleable in North America.

These ships are constructed in five sections, floated together, and then welded.

Silicone paint applied to the ship's bottom reduces water resistance and saves 317,000 of diesel fuel each year.

Each ship has 11 cargo crane rigs that can operate simultaneously to unload the entire ship in less than two hours.

A documentary on the History Channel stated that these container ships unload in California, turn around, and return to China EMPTY. They do not load American-made goods for sale in China.
What does that tell you about the state of manufacturing in the US and Canada?
You just continue to buy all those made-in-China products until you run out of money. Especially keep buying those gadgets and junk stuff that you don't really even need.
Is it any wonder what the cause of unemployment in the USA and Canada is?
Someday in your lifetime, the job you now hold and complain about being too hard and not paying enough will be performed by a worker in China or somewhere else in Asia. After all, there are billions of potential workers waiting to do your job for about 1/50th what you get paid.
